Alberton Function FAQs

Holding an function at Alberton or thinking of organising one? Below are some FAQs around what the Covid-19 Traffic Light system means for events at Alberton.

Do we require a My Vaccine Pass?

Yes, every person entering any part of the Alberton property (gardens, house, etc) will require their My Vaccine Pass to be scanned on arrival. This is a Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga requirement across Aotearoa New Zealand.


Are we still able to have catering provided?

Yes absolutely! We have a list of recommended caterers who are familiar with working functions at our heritage places. You are also able to self-cater. However, under the Covid-19 Protection Framework during red and orange levels there will be no access to the kitchens inside Alberton (except for collecting water) as they are small, and we need to allow for social distancing.


Will Alberton remain open to the public during my function?

Under the Covid-19 Protection Framework during RED and ORANGE levels Alberton will be closed to the general public during events.


How many guests can I have at my function?

To allow for 1 metre social distancing during RED and ORANGE, the maximum guest numbers are:

Ballroom | 35 people seated or 40 standing

Verandah | 50 people

Garden | 80 people

These numbers include any person attending the function (guests, organisers, etc), but does not include anyone working at the function (caterers, band/singers, officiants, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga staff, etc). Anyone working the function is required to wear a mask when practical.
